As we head into a potentially snowy weekend, we hope all our Kirkland neighbors are staying warm and safe. We’ve gathered a few safety reminders from the National Weather Service to help you prepare.
Get Home Safely
Watch for ice and slick roads as you drive. Set out more slowly than usual, and if you begin to skid, let off the gas but don’t slam the brakes.
Be Cautious
Snowy days are a great opportunity to enjoy the warmth and ambiance of your fireplace, but make sure you keep an eye on fireplace ventilation. If you notice smoke gathering in the room, crack a window and the smoke should vent through the chimney once more.
Check Your Smoke Detectors
As the snow (potentially) lingers, make sure your home’s carbon monoxide and smoke detectors have fresh batteries and are in good working order.
Make Memories
Whether you prefer to sled down the nearest hill or cozy up with a blanket and Netflix, we hope you’re able to make a few memories in the snow.
